The medieval capital of Spain. Start at the Alcázar, walk the old city walls, and eat cochinillo at Adolfo. Take the 8am train.
Segovia (30 min by AVE)
The Roman aqueduct and the fairy-tale Alcázar. Best visited mid-week to avoid crowds. Lunch: cochinillo asado at Mesón de Cándido.
